Exploratory World Language and Culture Spanish

This course is designed to stimulate an interest in world language and culture with Spanish. The emphasis is placed on the skills of speaking, listening, and understanding the most basic vocabulary and daily expressions. The students learn to express themselves using basic vocabulary and simple sentences, through student centered activities, games, songs, and music in the target language of Spanish. The student is also exposed to cultural differences and similarities. This course is designed for seventh grade students.
To foster the four primary goals of the World Language Program, classroom activities include communicative exercises, co-operative learning, vocabulary building; reading, writing, and listening exercises; cultural readings and presentations, videos, activities designed to connect with other disciplines, and programs to encourage world community participation.
